Well this is some unfortunate news…. Daeung Sunim, the 42-year-old Korean Buddhist monk who is currently biking his way throughout the Americas and currently in Canada has had some bad luck come his way.

Via the Facebook page documenting his trip comes this post:

Sunim was fortunate enough to have a Day host for today to show him the sights of Toronto. While their vehicle was parked the window was smashed and Sunim’s bag containing his computer, cell phone and GPS unit was stolen. The cell phone and GPS unit are easily replaceble, along with the other contents of the bag, but his computer has all of his information. Route maps and all the other information neccessary for his trip. What is of even more importance is his personal writings and his pictures. Hundreds of pictures documenting his trip so far….all gone.

I need help. I’m appealing to all of Sunim’s supporters to help me, to get on their computers and phones to appeal to every Toronto media outlet they can think of to air this unfortunate event and appeal to the thief to return the computer. I know its a long shot. But starting this page in hopes of finding warm beds and hot meals for Sunim was a long shot and look what’s happened.

I’ll have the location of the theft posted soon my brothers phone is busy as he is cancelling cell phone service and taking other precautions against identity theft etc.

Please spread the word folks.
