Since I was a little grommet, there had always been skateboard companies that were just greedy and out for money. There’s big bucks in selling products and skate culture became bloated with gigantic corporations ready to take advantage of the wallets of many.

A few posts ago, I mentioned ordering the Dalai Lama Skatedeck from Skull Skates and I wanted to share with you a comment that was left on this blog which speaks to the true awesomeness of their company. Sounds very much like the rallying cry of Dharma Punx/Against the Stream doesn’t it?

Embedded in the ethos of Skull Skates is the awareness that the cultural norms, as they stand, are not working. Skull Skates is also cognizant that the dominant culture paradigm can shift. Raising awareness within the culture of skateboarding, we rally those that are working to shift the paradigm of aggression, desire, and ignorance towards a culture of discriminating awareness and compassion.

Having living examples in these day and times is important – such came the tribute to “The True Champions”.

with thanks.
