Random Linkage: Buddhist Fashion, Jhanas, Women Buddhas, American Buddhists, Canadian Buddhists, Angry Asian Buddhists, What’s Wrong with Buddhism?
2012 December 26
Here it is. The regular dump of links to things I’ve been reading, interested in and have generally hit my radar.
- Dharma Punx NYC’s Josh Korda recently released a book titled “Buddha Style: A discussion about the Buddha’s radical teachings on fashion and forgiveness” and printed versions can now be purchased on Amazon. The artwork by Jesse Bercowetz looks spectacular so do check it out.
- Gary Sanders, another member of the Dharma Punx nation, just had an article published recently titled “Meditation Gaining Absorption” relating his experiences in a retreat at Spirit Rock. I hope to see more of his writing in the future.
- Women Buddhas: A Short List of Female Saints, Teachers and Practitioners in Tibetan Buddhism
- And it is asked… “Who are American Buddhists?”
- And a journalist tries to answer ‘Who are Asian Canadian Buddhists’ and fails… fails hard according to the Angry Asian Buddhist. It just made me angry myself. Checking out the comments lead me to this teacher quoted in the article and I’ll leave it to you dear readers to make your own conclusions.
