Random Linkage: Bad Meditators, Project Managers, Virtual Recovery Groups and Facebook
2012 December 12
- “Ways I have been a bad Meditator” - a poem by Ted Weinstein over at Killing the Buddha that captures it all. Oh yes. Jhana where are you?
- Again while over at Killing the Buddha, I was captivated by this article titled ‘Demon Dialogues’ which resonated with me as the daughter of a Pentacostal.
- ‘The Buddha was not a Project Manager’ by Kipp over at the Capital Dharma blog struck a chord with me as I am a project manager and sometimes tend to see things with the project manager lenses (deadlines, deliverables, resources anyone?)
- The Fifth Precept Organization are offering up Virtual ‘Sit and Share’ Meetings via Skype which are Buddhist-oriented recovery meetings and meditation sessions. I sat in on one of their sessions yesterday and really appreciated the time spent with this group so do check them out on their Facebook group if you’re interested.
The 5th Precept Sangha is a Peer Led group that supports the use of Buddhist teachings, traditions and practices to help people make a full recovery from the suffering caused by addictive behaviours.
- Speaking of Facebook, after watching a brother in the Zen community experience a bit of a pickle with commenting as his blog vs. commenting as an individual and always putting off expanding communications beyond just blog comments, I’m now dipping a toe in the waters and you can find the blog over at this Facebook page. Let’s talk. You know me so how about I get to know you better? Want to share a link with me? Can I send you some books to review? Questions for me? Answers for me?
