Buddhist Super Heroines
So to counter that gloomy post from yesterday which I published, un-published, then re-published I wanted to share these nuggets of goodness that came my way via a recent post by Rev. Danny Fisher who consistently rocks my world.
He’s drawn attention to the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence Campaign that ran from November 25th to December 10th and in particular, the participation of several Buddhist women who are part of the FaithTrust Institute which “is a national, multifaith, multicultural training and education organization with global reach working to end sexual and domestic violence”.
In his post, Danny mentioned video profiles highlighting the perspectives of two fantastic female Buddhist super heroines - Wendy Egyoku Nakao, Zen Buddhist Priest and Abbot of the Zen Center of Los Angeles and Alisa Roadcup who is Vice President of the Board of Directors for Rape Victim Advocates and Director of US Advocacy and Development for Heshima Kenya.
Please watch their videos and get inspired.
