On the Board
I have some super news to report to you dear friends…
I am now on the Board of Directors for Head and Hands, a remarkable Montreal-based non-profit that does so much good for the community and in particular for youth. So much good. Like we’re talking a mind-blowing amount of good, including:
- Information and referrals for everything under the sun
- Medical clinics and special HIV testing clinics
- The Sense Project sex education program for 14-17 year olds
- Legal assistance, accompaniment, and lawyer consultations
- Social counseling with couples, families, and individuals
- The young parents program
- The Jeunesse 2000 youth drop-in centre
- Tutoring
- An emergency food pantry
- Workshops on legal rights, safer drug use, babysitting and other social topics such as self-esteem, body-image, and boundaries
This video below which best summarizes all that this organization just says it all. The enthusiasm and overall good vibes that emanate from every single person affiliated with Head and Hands beams down like the sun. The Annual General Meeting was like being surrounded by tons of BFF’s.
Hey congrats on that! The Unitarian church I occasionally attend often raises money for them. Sounds like a great group!
