From a member of the Montreal community came a request to share this information with you.

Tibetans and Tibet supporters living outside Tibet are organizing a worldwide vigil on 8 August 2012, in order to demonstrate solidarity with Tibetans within Tibet and to mark the first anniversary of Prime Minister Lobsang Sangay swearing into Office. In Montreal, the vigil will take place in front of the Mont-Royal Metro station, at 6 pm, August 8th.

Those attending are invited to wear traditional Tibetan clothes and offer Dentsik Monlam (Prayer of Truth) along with other prayers as a sign of respect and condolence for the victims of the 44 self-immolations that recently took place in Tibet.

The gathering will also mark the first anniversary of Lobsang Sangay’s swearing into office and becoming the first Prime Minister of the Tibetan Government in Exile.
