The singularity of the sangha

I came across something today which seemed to scare me.

I was looking through some comments on the concept of sangha and different people’s interpretations of it and one stood out for me in that for this person, the sangha represented a group of people who had exactly the same vision and it got me to thinking. Is the goal of a sangha to have the same vision? Is it best to exist independently from each other and bring our nuanced personalities, neuroses and enlightened nature together to form a gumbo of practitioners known as the sangha?

Are there any teachings from the Buddha specific to being interdependently dependent within the sangha structure?
