Thanks for the Nagajuna book recommendations

Thanks so much to Homeless Tom and Eshu from the Victoria Zen Centre for the suggestions to help me along with my study of Nagajuna’s Mulamadhyamakakarika.

I will certainly be picking up Stephen Batchelor’s “Verses from the Center’ and will investigate Jay Garfield’s materials a bit more. I started out reading Garfield’s book “The Fundamental Wisdom of the Middle Way” but became rather overwhelmed with it. Eshu does have a good point that “Unfortunately “easy to grasp” and Mulamadhyamakakarika don’t really go together all that well.” I really needed that reality check.

Time to put my nose to the grindstone without a characteristic that never existed.

Oh boy!

Glad to be of help! Good luck with coming to an understanding of emptiness!

Read Jan Westerhoff’s “Nagarjuna’s Madkhyamaka: A Philosophical Introduction”. Scholarly and a bit demanding, but accessible and immensely rewarding.
