Lost and found art
I found a photo today of an image of your striped shirt sleeve.
It was on the same roll as the photo I had taken of an old bamboo hamper that we once shared
and a colorful photo of a dog-hair encrusted pair of rainbow-toed socks I used to wear while zipping and mock speed-skating around on our hardwood floors,
picking up dust, pieces of fur, filaments of our hair and my dried up tears.
I remember once, you cursing about people in love.
How you hated to see them holding one another.. demonstrating their mutual support and understanding for each other.
You wanted to tear them down.
I felt that was the most sad thing I had ever heard spoken,
but I hated them too and I felt so powerless when I felt how much my heart had hardened.
We had that much in common.
