Laptopless again… and on a news fast

I’m patiently waiting for my laptop to be repaired – or at least trying to be patient.

So difficult as I miss it so much. When did this bond occur? How did this little white box become such a part of my family? I feel lost without it yet I seem to be doing well given that what feels like all of my life is stored within its confines.

I guess in some ways I’m enjoying that in the evenings I have more time to read, study, practice and meditate. That is one benefit.

Dr. Weil often recommends taking a ‘news fast’- a week of freedom from watching distressing content. This week I unknowingly had not been taping episodes of “The Hour” on my PVR so I guess I’m fasting. Let it be known that I’d definitely take George over Lloyd any night @ 11pm (sorry Lloyd).

How many of you have done the ‘news fast’? Have you noticed any changes in your mind / mood?
