Oh so quiet…

The house is so quiet… Dog is asleep… No music or TV in the background. Just the hum of a PC (horrid little machine).

As a lover of lists, I’m working on 2 in particular. Please feel free to send your feedback.

#1 – Where do you take a visiting mother in this city that doesn’t involve gang fights, peeler bars or the Arcade Fire?

#2 – What neighborhood do you suggest an old high school friend moving here from the Maritimes set up her home in?

Never witnessed a gang fight in 13 years of living in Montreal. Manhunts, hits and collections, but no gang fights. Old Montreal is always a winner to visit. I work in the area and there’s so much to find it’s amazing. List #2, depends on income I guess but the area of Villeray and Rosemont are pretty quiet. Avoid St-Michel, Verdun, Hochelaga and Montreal-Nord.

I agree that Old Montreal is a great place to visit, no question.

I wouldn’t completely write-off Verdun as a place to move to (lived here for nearly 25 years) ;)
I know a few Maritimers, and one in particular has a real soft spot for the Plateau Mont-Royal. I must asmit, there is something about the Plateau the appeals to me as well.
