Saga Dawa

Today is June 11th, the day which we commemorate Buddha’s birthday, the Anniversary of Buddha’s Enlightenment Day as well as Parinivana Day (otherwise known as Saga Dawa.
It goes without saying that each day I realize how fortunate I am to be able to be alive to hear, study and practice the teachings of the Buddha. I attended a talk this morning at a local Buddhist Centre on the “12 Deeds of the Buddha” and was struck at how in love with the Dharma I am. I have a love-hate relationship with my gomden however! I think I need a meditation coach or at least someone to give me a ‘wake up call’ like they do in hotels. I have such little discipline….
